Days 17 & 18 - Posting everyday is hard :P

I've been sticking with the plan, but I'm having a hard time remembering to write down or otherwise record what I've been eating. I've been keeping a running total in my head, but if I can't back it up with actual items, I'm putting down the standard 1000 cal. So Thursday is a 1000 cal day. Yesterday:

Day 15 - Halfway point

Ok, so the scale says I'm at 226 right now. That's cool. I think I'm due for another drop, but even if I only lose another 5 or so pounds in the next two weeks, I will consider this an unqualified success.

Days 13 & 14

So I didn't post yesterday like I had planned. For Saturday and Sunday I'm not entirely sure about my calories. I was over on Saturday, but not too bad. I'm estimating about 1500 cal. For Sunday, I stuck with the program and just had about 1000 calories. So:

Day 11 - Coasting

So it's getting easier every day. I'm pretty much to the coasting phase, which just means that I feel great and just have to exercise self control to avoid over eating. I don't have the same terrible hunger pains.

Day 10 - 1/3 of the way through

So no matter what you do today, the time is going to pass. Might as well be healthier at the end than at the beginning.

Day 9 - Some Math

Not counting today's calories, because I weigh myself in the morning before I eat anything.
1 lb of fat = 3500 cal
Daily caloric requirement ~ 2500
So, 8 days would need: 20000
I've consumed about 7700 cal
20000 - 7700 = 12300
12300 = number of calories used, but not consumed.
12300/3500 = 3.5 = number of pounds of fat expected loss.
Actual loss = 235.2 - 229 = 6.2

So I'm ahead of schedule. That's always nice :)

Dinner: Veggie soup 300 Cal?
Snack: Chocolate chips and peanut butter 110; Milky way 250 cal
And because that only puts me at 920, I'm adding cake :) 100 cal

Day 8 - I'm not worried.

Ok, so weight today was 229.4. Which is up from 2 days ago. I just chalk it up to my scale sucking :P. I'm more interested in trends. I think you need at least 4 days to establish one. So we'll see where I'm at on Day 9!

Day 6 - Party on, dudes!

Beckra's birthday party today. Dang, I really love cake :). Especially with cherry frosting and coconut. Jana did a great job making a poodle cake. It was really hard not eating a lot of cake. And then some more. I found myself sneaking little bits.

So last night we went to Disney on Ice. There are no healthy food choices there. Seriously. None. Fortunately I wasn't expecting healthy food so we ate at the Gateway food court before the show. I win!

Day 4 - True confession (5lbs gone!)

I cheat. Everyday. I never include vegetables or pickles in my calorie count. They just don't matter to me. Anything that you would have to eat two pounds of to make 150 calories or so I just don't care to include. Fortunately, it's my game so I get to make the rules.

Day 3 - Mmmm... Veggie soup...

So soups can be very filling, and vegetables (most of them) are very light on the calories. So I made veggie soup tonight. I thought it was yummy, and at least one of my children actually ate her whole bowl. Good times.

Lunch: oatmeal 275 cal
Dinner: Veggie soup. Umm.. Not sure about the calories. That's the problem with homemade. I'm going to go with 350.
Snack: Yes. Another Milky Way 250 Cal. In a weak moment before I started this, I bought a big box. I know! Horrible!

Weight: 230.8. I haven't done enough to merit a 4.4 lbs loss, so I'm going with either the scale is bugged, or my body was retaining water before, and now it isn't. I know I haven't burned 17000 calories the past few days.

Day 2 - Horrible, agonizing hunger (arrgghhh)

Ouch. I hate being hungry. I feel good about today, though. I love steamed vegetables!

This mornings weight was 232. I'm not sure I believe that. I had three days of weigh ins at 235, so I guess we'll see tomorrow if today was a fluke, a scale issue, a gravitational change, or reality.

Why 30 Days and 30000 calories? AKA Day one

Ok, so here's the deal. I've been gaining weight back. It's extremely frustrating given how hard I worked to lose it in the first place. So I've been reviewing my weight loss attempts so far this year and discovered the missing component: I need to be held accountable. For some reason, I make bad eating choices when I'm the only one paying attention.

So why 30/30000? I thought it was catchy and it fits with my daily 1000 cal goal. If you don't think that's enough, just consider: My body has plenty of stored calories to make up the difference. That's kind of the point. It has worked for me before. It's also around what people eat after they've had a surgical weight loss procedure.

So please check in on this blog. It's intent is to go for 30 days and re-evaluate. If I still need accountability from there, I'll let everyone know :).

Prediction: In 30 days I will have lost at least 13 pounds.
